I showed off my BEST “twerking” to my Hubabub . His reaction? Wide-eyed ridiculous enthusiasm. Now I’m a momma of 3 young kids and multi-biz owner so, I’ll admit, my guy doesn’t ALWAYS get a whole lot of lovin’ time. And I’m sure his excitement for my bobbing derriere was not an accurate measurement of my Twerking abilities.
OR maybe I’m actually really good at it? Huh.
So. Why did Miley Twerk?
Because she seeks success through notoriety.

Through all the CRAZY that Twerking instigated there are valuable and practical lessons to be learned.

Twerking got Miley millions of YouTube hits, hundreds of hours of TV/Radio exposure plus endless online publicity. And while the attention she garnered was not all POSITIVE it was attention. And in the game of business, getting noticed is essential.
Miley’s Twerking was attention-seeking, conversation-inducing, reaction-getting successful.
And now the SOUL CENTRED catch.
Success born from goals that are separate from soul and service provide only a fleeting and momentary sense of achievement. This type of success is most often disconnected from our authentic self and is based on endless pursuit rather than passionate purpose.
I’m guessing this is why Miley quickly moved on to licking sledgehammers.
It is also why there are many highly “successful” people who live sadly unsatisfied. They become addicted to the bigger account, higher grossing sales, the next promotion, bonuses, more social media engagement, larger databases, faster money, deeper pockets….
You get the idea right?
Twerking provided Miley with success.
But it was not SOUL-CENTRED SUCCESS.
Or maybe it was for her and I am off my rocker. Doubtful.
